Camping

This is a little late coming, but at the end of August we went camping and it was so much fun! The group included, Robbie, Me and McKinley, Jenni and Christian, Leslie and Matt and Jon and Ty. We only went overnight, but it was a blast. As it goes with camping we pretty much ate from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.
We camped at Ruth Lake, I love it there, it's so beautiful! McKinley had a fabulous first camping trip, her favorite thing to do was to throw rocks in the lake. By the time we left, that little kiddo had quite an arm.
We also hiked to a spot to rock climb and Jenni, Christian, Jon and Robbie were all great climbers. If I say so myself, Robbie looks pretty hot when he's climbing (we went climbing on our first "date" in Rexburg, maybe it just takes me back :) )!

I think my sister said it best....Ruth Lake = HAPPINESS!

Here is our tired camper at the end of the trip:

Here are our climbers (Robbie is in the yellow, lead climbing):

McKinley and I trying to eat lunch on a rock, we were not very successful!

Seriously, this kiddo LOVES her back pack!

How About Some Pictures

We took too many cute pictures in July, so I just had to put some of my favorites up. I'll get to August soon too!
McKinley loves the lake in Daybreak. Her favorite thing to do is sit on the dock and dip her head in.

We also went to the park and she really enjoyed the slide and the swing...though we couldn't get her to smile for a picture!

When we went to Bear Lake we took her to the kiddie pool. She loves swimming pools, so she had an awesome time. Smiles to prove it even!

And who can resist drinking the tasty pool water that 100 kids have probably peed in!

And last, but not least, the pizza we ate that was bigger than McKinley!

Getting Molars

McKinley got two of her molars a few weeks back. I was shocked and amazed by how incredibly drooly she was. It was actually kind of gross. She would soak through bibs in a matter of minutes and we changed her shirt several times a day...this went on for four days!
By the end of the second day my genius baby had found a way to cope. She would store up all the drool in her mouth and then bend over and spit it out! She did this on the carpet, the wood, my pants and the cement to name a few places. Well one day we went into her room to get her up from her nap and she had drooled all over the edge of her rail and was then blowing into the spit pile to make noises. Here's the video...you can't really see the copious amount of drool that is on the crib, but you can hear it and if you look close you can see a little glistening off of her cheeks and chest.

I love this Necklace

I've been meaning to put this up here for a long time. So many people did so many thoughtful things for me last year I just can't believe it. I have a sweet friend from college, Christina. Turns out she makes the cutest jewelry. Well last year on a day when I needed something particularly awesome to happen, it did, I got a package in the mail. Christina had been thinking of me and made me a necklace that simply says "HOPE", I LOVE it! Every time I wear this necklace someone comments on how much they like it, and I whole heartedly agree. Not only is it cute, it's totally withstood McKinley pulling on it like crazy. (sorry, not a good picture)

So for those of you that have been asking, here is the link to Christina's jewelry blog. http://web.me.com/christinacurtis/Simply_Ornamental/Jewelry_Designs.html Thanks Christina for such a thoughtful gift and cute piece of jewelry.

I bet you didn’t know I….

Quilt! I've always enjoyed sewing, it's a fun thing I seem to pick up again every few years. Last Fall I was looking for new hobbies again and my wonderful friends at work invited me to quilt with them. We meet up once a month and have dinner and quilt. It is so much fun. We all bring our sewing machines and each month we do a quilt for a different person in the group. The person whose quilt it is comes with the fabric and pattern. Here is a picture of my first quilt, we pieced the whole thing in one night…I still need to do the machine quilting and binding…soon I promise!

Well, this last month one of our "Quilt Girls" lost the love of her life in a plane crash. Not knowing what to do and wanting to provide her something that could give her a little comfort, we got together and we quilted. Kristen got all the pictures and the lyrics, Sandy designed the quilt, Kelly and Mia went fabric shopping, Kylie color coordinated each block and Kellene and I sewed. Each time we finished a block we decided that one was a favorite. Here's how it turned out, pieced in one night!

The finished product was great, Sandy did an amazing job quilting and binding it. We did the backing in a comfy flannel so Kir can really enjoy it. Most importantly Kirsten loves it. We love you Kir!
