I've been Tagged!

So, I've never done one of these, but it was actually kind of fun, here it goes:
1. What were you doing 10 years ago:
Ten years ago I was 16, so most likely I was driving my yellow bug and saying to my friends “close your eyes, we have to turn left”…I hated turning left when I first learned to drive and sometimes even closed my own eyes! If I wasn’t doing that, then I was definitely shopping or going out and driving my dad nuts because my sister did not ask to wear my shirt and she totally was!

2. Things on my to-do list today:
Go to work (obviously that's going well since while I'm here, I'm doing this!), pay the bills, make dinner, put away the laundry, go to the gym, pick up the house and watch Lost.

3. What would I do if I suddenly became a billionaire:
First the fun stuff, I would buy a new house, one that I could live in forever if I wanted. I would go buy all of the maternity clothes I wanted and then buy some regular clothes for when this pregnancy is over. I would definitely surprise Robbie with a shopping spree to REI…I’m sure he could spend all of our money there. Oh! And immediately take him back to New Zealand for a huge trip! Then I would visit my grandparents in Spain and travel everywhere else I ever wanted to go. I would totally give some money to all of my family, I mean if I have extra, why not share! Oh, and there are few treats in life that I love more than Rollos, so I would buy everyone I know a pack of Rollos and send them to them! Then, on a more serious note I would donate a lot of money to different charities and causes, there are a lot of things out there that I’m passionate about that could use more money.

4. Bad habits:
I have this really annoying habit of getting really excited about a story Robbie is telling and taking it over (I really hate that I do that). Not calling my friends or family enough. Rolling my feet in circles while I’m just sitting, which doesn’t sound bad, but ask Robbie, he hates it and I always mail birthday presents or cards late!

5. Places I have lived:
West Valley City, UT; South Jordan, UT; Rexburg, ID; Salt Lake City, UT. Only four different cities, but lots of different apartments within each!

6. Jobs I have had:
Paper Route, babysitting, Juice Pub, TrendWest (yes, I probably called you!), for my uncle contracted out to a bunch of different business to do work, opening mail for the night shift(I lasted one night), Western Watts, RA at BYI-Idaho, Richter7, LoveSac and ADP.

7. Things people don't know about me:
I’m actually pretty private even though it seems that I’m very open. I love to have things organized. I love to be barefoot. Sometimes I get dizzy and everything goes black and I’m secretly afraid that my eyesight won’t come back! Ever since Robbie dislocated his shoulder the second time if he goes out to do something and he’s gone longer than I think he should be I’m afraid he’s hurt again (I’m kind of a worry wart). I absolutely LOVE when my house is clean!

Winter Party

**Warning: This blog might be a long one, as I wanted to keep my Grandma and Grandpa up to speed on what happened at the cabin this year!

We just got back from the annual family “Winter Party” at my Grandpa’s cabin in Bear Lake. Each Presidents Days we travel to the cabin and spend the weekend with my family. This year the change is altitude caused my feet, hands and face to swell up a little and Robbie’s allergies acted up making his eyes itch like crazy! But we all still had a great time as usual!

Uncle Bart’s family was the first to arrive (about 1:00 am Thursday) and had to use a sled system to get their kids and luggage up over a huge mound of snow and forge a new path to get into the cabin! Most of the rest of us started showing up on Friday night and the snow was so deep and parts of the road were pretty icy, so a few of my relatives’ cars couldn’t make it up the hill! Luckily, when Robbie and I showed up Friday we didn’t have a problem, I love the Subaru more every time winter comes! It was fun when people who were parked at the bottom of the hill had to go somewhere, because we employed a “shuttle service” to get people up and down the hill to their cars!

Saturday a big group of people went skiing/snowboarding at Beaver Mountain. I couldn’t go this year, because the doctor said no skiing while I’m pregnant. Robbie went and said everyone had a great time. A few of the kids took some lessons, including my brothers Jon (12) and Tyler (9). Ty was a little disappointed this year because his ski instructor was a guy and not “a Hot Chick”.

Robbie, Matt and Leslie packing their lunches for skiing!

Another group of people went to Montpelier to tube and Mom and I spent the day shopping for groceries, relaxing and watching Sense and Sensibility…what a great show! When eveyone got back we had popcorn and played games. There was a contest for the popcorn and I believe it was the Chocolate Marshmallow popcorn that won, although there were a lot of good and original flavors. The most original was probably Uncle Brad’s…he made a carmel popcorn with cayenne pepper or something; first you got the carmel flavor and then the heat came, it was unlike any popcorn I’ve ever had before!

Sunday we drove in to Paris for church. We all decided that it must be Grandma and Grandpa that usually make us late, because we were actually all on time this year! My family had Sunday dinner, so we decided to make a “Taco Bar”. We spent the early afternoon cooking.

Me dicing up the tomatoes, right before I cut my finger.

Aunt Cheryl planned a great family home evening where we all learned cool facts about President Thomas S. Monson. After the trivia game, we played a wild game of “Fruit Salad”, which is kind of like musical chairs minus the music and organized walking in a line and adding in that not everyone moves at once and there is a lot of diving for spots to stay in the game! It was a lot of fun and there weren’t too many injuries. After the game my Mom got out a piñata. Robbie was holding this piñata and frequently he would move it so it would attack the person swinging. This was the toughest piñata I have ever seen. Everyone who got a chance to hit got three hits (hits not swings) before they had to pass the beater stick to another person. Here is a list of all of the people it got through before the piñata broke open: Calista, Monique, Eli, Dacee, Adrien, Gavin, Tyler , Peyton, Jon, Tori, CJ, Audri, Leslie, Jenni, Andy, Natalie and Alicia. I couldn’t believe it took so long to break!

Monday found us all packing up and getting ready to leave, but not before we got some serious sledding in down the hill in the back yard.

Building the course, CJ getting some air, I gave it a try too

Our Inner Rockstars!

Well, Robbie bought a cool new game…Rockband! We loved Guitar Hero, so when we sold it, we needed to buy something to replace it and this was the perfect fit. There are guitars, a microphone and drums and they are all so fun. Robbie thought he would hate the singing part, but I think he’s becoming a karaoke master! And who knew I would be such a natural at the drums! We had some friends over this weekend and played for a few hours; I hope our neighbors still like us! Sorry the pics are a little blurry, apparently I'm not a professional phototgrapher! :)

Luke on the drums, Justin at guitar and Robbie performing some stellar vocals
(the pic of Brian was too fuzzy, but he was quite the guitar player too!)

Ashlee on the drums (her percussion experience from jr. high
and high school sure showed) and Kellie on the guitar looking like a natural!

Allison, Me and Jack (Allison's son) singing the vocals. Robbie took some video of that, but to save Allison and I the embarassment, I just included the picture instead!

Snow Day

Well, this post is a couple days old now, but we had quite a crazy snow day on Super Bowl Sunday. There was so much snow, they even cancelled church! Cars were buried up to their doors, then plows came by and I have no idea how people parked on the street ever dug out! Later in the day we ventured out for dinner at my parents house as we do on the first Sunday of each month. Robbie LOVES driving in the snow. He thoroughly enjoyed running over mounds of snow and spinning enough donuts in the Subaru that I finally had to say “Can I get out, you’re making me car sick?”

Anyway, when we got home, we just needed to shovel one little part of the driveway that didn’t get done by the HOA. Of course, Robbie did it in his shorts and t-shirt!

Baby Tips

My brother-in-law sent these out in an email and I couldn't help but post them here, I thought they were so funny! I'm so glad I received these tips now, otherwise to dry the baby after bathing I may have put her in the clothes dryer. I think I'll be a better parent thanks to these handy diagrams!

Something I Never Thought I Would Do

Well, today I hit a new low. Here is the sad, but true, fact: I wore sweatpants to work! If I worked in a gym or I was a PE teacher or maybe even perhaps an employee at a workout specific clothing store, then it would not be a new low, it would be my work clothes. Unfortunately, I don’t, I work at ADP, where we dress “business casual”. Sure, it has the word casual in it, but I don’t think they ever meant for their employees to take it this far. But I was really in a jam this morning, my choices were to 1) call in sick because I had nothing to wear 2) go to work with no pants on and probably be fired for indecency or 3) wear “nice looking” black sweatpants to work and hope no one noticed. I picked option 3; I figure its ok, because I was desperate right? I’m down to 3 pairs of pants that I can wear to work (which I recently just bought a few sizes bigger than usual on clearance…they were a great deal) and about 2 dresses and I have developed the unfortunate habit of spilling all over myself and not finding time to do the laundry! So, there I sat in my black sweatpants hoping no one would notice, but boy was I comfortable. My regular pants aren’t uncomfortable, but really, are there more comfortable pants than sweat pants? I don’t think so. Basically, I spent the day only leaving my desk if I had to and enjoying the pure comfort of sweats (good thing I didn’t have any clients in the office today). I guess it’s time to do laundry!

On that note, I have been getting a lot of questions from friends and family that are far away if I look pregnant yet. So, I caved under the pressure and took some pictures. Now you can see why I only fit a couple pairs of pants! So, here I am at a little over 24 weeks pregnant!

No More Carpet!

We’ve been working on a couple of things over the last few weeks. For those of you who haven’t been to our place, we decided to pass on some of the “upgrades” we were offered because they were astronomically expensive! There were a few that we decided we would do ourselves later. One of these was to tile the bathroom instead of have carpet, because tiling was really expensive through the builder! Well, we finally got around to replacing it (though I will admit that the carpet was nice and soft whenever I got out of the shower!). I use the term "we" loosely because Robbie really did all of the work. Robbie is quite a good tile layer and I thought he got it done pretty quickly too! Really I just think it’s great how handy Robbie is.
