I have always hated going to the doctor.....insta-care has been my physician since I got married, of course that changed when I had to start going for regular check ups. Mostly, I've always hated it and thought it was such a waste of time. It's funny how that has been different on my last two visits. The last two visits to the doctor I've been pretty excited because they were doing ultrasounds. It's so much fun to hear the baby's heart beat and see her moving all over the place. So, I added a little video of some of the fun stuff.
p.s. The ultrasounds are over now, so I'm not quite as excited for the next visit.

Sick Days
Robbie was home last week. He had the worst cold and just couldn’t go into work; the poor guy looked and sounded miserable. I always feel so bad for him when he’s sick, because he doesn’t sleep well and there are a lot of medicines he can’t take because they make him super ornery! So, for the last week he’s been moaning in his sleep and moving around all night trying to get comfortable. When he moves around, it's not a little, you'd think he was trying to swim or something...he moves all over! He moves around so much and makes so much noise I’m up most the night and if I’m not up, I get accidentally hit in face by him (for some reason it is always the face : ) ) a couple of times a night. Anyway, I really felt bad for him, he wasn’t doing well. So, he decided to stay home one day and I thought that was great…he could sleep and rest and maybe start to feel better.Well, I had only been at work for maybe a couple of hours when he called me because he was going to Provo to pick up a PS3. He had been online and found a great deal. So, he headed to Provo to pick it up. After his trip to Provo, he called to tell me he was starting to paint our bedroom. Talk about getting a lot done! When I got home the room was about half painted and the PS3 was hooked up, but Robbie didn’t look like he felt any better! I told him he was probably going to have to take another sick day to recover from his sick day! Needless to say, a few days later I started to get the cold (though it hasn’t been as bad). I came home from work early on Friday, so I could rest. I slept for a couple of hours, but I couldn’t help but laugh when I woke up thinking…geez, I should have finished the painting or got the oil changed in the car or finished paying the bills…..Robbie had been so productive I felt like I had to keep up! I didn’t though, I just slept, oh well, Robbie understood!

Pregnancy Does Funny Things
So, I thought I would share with you what I have discovered about myself and Robbie and being pregnant. Who knew these odd little things would happen? P.S. I love it, I never know what weird little quark is going to show up next!
Lindsay’s funny things
- I was really excited to find out I was pregnant, but when we decided to tell people…I was like a deer in headlights. All I wanted to do was yell out “I’m pregnant!”, but if I told you in person I’m sure you noticed that Robbie had to say it, because I would just sit there and not know how!
- I was actually excited when I got big enough I couldn’t button my pants anymore!
- I’m not nearly as emotional as I thought I might be (which is good), but when I start crying I can’t stop! Just ask Robbie about the night the whole house smelled like barbeque beef!
- I have developed a grunt. It’s as if every time I bend over, turn, climb up into the bed or even lean to put my socks on it takes an incredible amount of effort. It actually takes no more effort than usual, but for some crazy reason I grunt. It is totally out of my control…it just happens. It’s the craziest thing ever.
- I gasp and laugh out loud more than I ever have before when watching movies or TV shows.
Robbie's Funny Things
- Pink has become the word he uses most often. As soon as we found out it was a girl he decided that everything should be pink, because “little girls like pink and we are having a little girl”. So, I picked out some pink bedding that I thought was cute and I showed it to Robbie (noting that I thought he would approve since I went with his color choice) and he actually told me it was not pink enough!
- He has already called me numerous times at work worried because a)our back packing tent is a 2 man tent and there will be 3 of us, what are we going to do? We need a new tent! b)the baby is due in May and he has decided to plan a back packing trip for June (seems ambitious to me) and we need to find a way to pack in the baby and the camping stuff and the climbing gear c)he just found the coolest carrier that we should buy to hike with the baby d)he just found the “cutest pink (anything you can imagine)” and e)how are you feeling? (even thought I haven’t been sick at all…don’t I have the nicest husband ever?).
- He likes to give me advice: “I think you should start sleeping on your side now”, “are you sure it’s ok if you eat that?”, “maybe you should sit down for a while”, “I think you should eat something”, “you should drink more water” and this one is my favorite “you’re going to put her in pink for that, right?”.
